Tubing Experience
The Entrance
Sugar River Adventures offers an experience for people of all ages like no other. Our activities are nestled within the outlying forest preservation of Winnebago County Illinois. Tubing entrance point is located at the Colored Sands Forest Preserve-Yale Bridge Road launch.
With your tube in hand enter the water at Yale Bridge.
The Voyage
Once the voyage is underway you will float past Colored Sands Nature Preserve to the exit point at Paula Swanson Forest Preserve. The journey will float though winding river canals and under Yale Bridge Road bridge.
Float distance for tube rentals is 3 miles.
Estimated float time of 2 hours with normal river conditions.
Beaches & Sand Bars
Take your time and enjoy the beach and sand bars along the way!
The river will then guide you amongst beautiful sand bars providing an opportunity to take a break if you wish and enjoy the sand bar beaches.
The Big Finish
You have reached the Paula Swanson Forest Preserve A staff member will assist you with storing your tubes.
Your vehicles will be just a few steps away.
